Back in Time: Chapter 14

Chapter 15

Harry's POV
"What should we do now?" Sirius asked.

"Be safe. Go anywhere where Dumbledore's influence is the least, and we could get support if required." I said.

"Lucius, please restrain a few here." Tom said.

Lucius looked at him and then understood. Tom wanted Siri and Remmy restrained so he could explain a few things. Lucius silently caste the body bind spell and the incarcerous spell to tie them to the chairs.

"What is the meaning of this?" Sirius shouted.

"Sirius, calm down. They know you will burst out and be spell-happy if you weren't tied." I said.

"Heir Black, Mister Lupin, it is necessary that you be restrained." Tom said.

Sirius tried to take deep breaths so as to calm down.

"My name is Tom Marvolo Riddle." Tom said. "You could also call me Voldemort." He continued.

Sirius and Remus wanted to scream.

"Please stop. I know this is hard to digest, hard to be civil with the one who just killed two of your best friends, who are also my parents. But please stay quiet until he is done. I want to know what his original goals were before he became a megalomaniac." I said.

"Harry." Sirius pleaded.

"Sirius, there is something the inheritance paper doesn't show. Yes, I am Lily and James' son, but do you know that they were cheating on each other while leaving me to you. Do you know that with the eidetic memory, I remember that they didn't even want me. They only started caring for me when the old man said I was the prophecy child. Dumbledore promised them fame and money if they cared for me." I said.

It was true. Lily always would complain that she was too young to have a child. James would shout at me that I was the reason he was stuck with the harpy of a woman, who he once thought was a brilliant girl.

"What about the wills?" Severus asked. "They felt like they really care about you."

"Anyone could fake emotions Severus. Why else would they stay in a cottage than the Potter Manor. The wards of the Manor would never allow anyone inside. The Potters are one of the Sacred Twenty Eight. Their Manors are the best warded. But Dumbledore said they could get more famous if they stayed in the cottage rather than the manor. It would also show that they trusted the old man, and he could be seen as their mentor and mine as he helped me defeat the Dark Lord." I said.

Sirius was slowly remembering something from the look on his face. "He really didn't want you, didn't he?" Sirius asked, as he looked at me from where he was tied.

"What did you remember, Siri?" I asked.

"He placed you in my arms one day and said he had had enough of having a child. I thought there was something wrong with him, so I called Dumbledore. The man forced James to raise you, promising him all the fame that you could get once you took the Dark Lord down. Then he obliviated me." Sirius said.

"I had a similar encounter with Lily." Remus said.

"See, now you know that it is good that they're dead. I would've been raised in a more abusive house and been more neglected than when I was sent to the Dursleys." I said.

"So, you are not mad that I killed your parents?" Tom asked.

"According to Mortem, you were sane when you tried to fire the curse at me like what happened today. But I wasn't able to stop the compulsion towards you at that time like I did now. As you were trying to fight it off, the old man fired the curse at me. You know that only I could keep you sane, and you didn't want to lose that, so you put yourself in the way of the curse. I am thankful you tried to save me now that I know, but it was not required." I said.

"Sounds like me in the first part. What do you mean I didn't need to?" Tom asked.

"Mortem explained that I was meant to be the Master of Death the moment I was born. That curse would not have affected me in any way." I said.

"Is that the reason you didn't die when he fired the curse at you before we came back?" Draco asked as he looked up at me from my arms.

I nodded. "That might have been the reason why." I said. I looked at Tom. "Can you tell your ideals for the magical world so I can't feel guilty to betray the light side?"

Tom nodded. "I think you know how and where I was born and raised." I nodded. "So, the first thing I wanted was for any child that showed magic to be taken to the magical world and adopted by families that want children but can't have any. If that was not the case, I wanted magical orphanages. The children from the muggles can be replaced by children in muggle orphanages. The children will have families, and the parents won't feel that they lost their child. Their memories can be modified so that they think the child is their own."

"I accept that idea. I know how it feels to be raised by a family that didn't want you. That didn't want to do anything with your magic." I said.

"The second is for the purebloods. The muggleborns are from the squib lines of magical families. They are the children of the squibs who were abandoned for not having any magic." Tom said.

"That is true." Draco said. Lucius was struggling with the idea, but he didn't want to go against his lord. Sirius seemed fine with the explanation, and so was Remus and Narcissa.

"Any idea for halfbloods?" Severus asked. He didn't want another child to go through what he had to, and you had to respect him for that.

"I do. If one parent is magical and the other is a muggle, the child and the magical parent will be given the option of staying with them or separating and getting back completely to the magical world. If they choose to stay with their partner, they will have someone from the magical world assigned to them so that they would be gotten to us if the assigned person finds anything strange. If they choose to separate, the muggle partner will have their memory of magic wiped." Tom said.

"That is good." Severus said.

"It was a rule before Dumbledore took over. I'm just planning to get it back." Tom said.

"Do you mean to say that he wantedly removed it?" Severus asked. The only indication of anger was his clenched fists.

"Yes. So that people would think that he saved them from an abusive household." Tom said.

"Anything for the creatures?" Remus asked.

I smiled at him. He was slowly seeing the errors of the old man.

"Werewolves can work. The only condition is that during a full moon, they stay in a locked area after taking the potion to retain their human mind. There will be no other restrictions.
Vampires will be asked to go to the bank to get blood supplies from the bank. Gringotts always has them. Unless the wizard or witch asks for being turned, irrespective of the wizard or witch being the vampire's mate, the vampire will be sent to prison. Not Azkaban, but there is a magical prison that suppresses your magic and any creature as long as you stay there.
Azkaban was to be used only for the most ruthless of criminals, who you know will never change no matter the punishment.
Those are the most hated and hunted creatures by the light side.
For the others, the same rules apply. You don't hurt a civilian or an officer, you can roam around like any other person, with a condition that if required to change someone, take the permission of the ministry or if the person being changed gives permission. Permission should be given without any manipulation.
If the creature thinks and knows that there is no other way to keep their mate alive, then say it out to Lady Magic and turn them. It will not be registered in the ministry for illegal turning." Tom said.

Remus nodded.

"What about a few reforms that have been useful for people when they were made, but are harmful now?" I asked.

"I plan on removing such reforms." Tom said.

"You seem to have better plans and ideals this time round." I said.

"Pup, can we be released?" Sirius asked.

"Then, can you give your word that you won't harm, or maim him in any way?" Severus asked.

Sirius and Remus nodded.

Lucius released them.

I think I was missing something. Then it hit me. Neville.

"Tom, do you think you can stop Bellatrix and the Lestranges, and Barty Crouch Jr. from torturing the Longbottoms?" I asked.

He nodded. He asked for Severus' arm. When Severus revealed his mark, Tom put his hand on it and pushed a little of his magic into the mark. "It is done. They are in my Manor." He said.

"Neville had to live with his grandmother after they tortured the Longbottoms with the Cruciatus to insanity. Alice is my godmother. Neville and I connected through abuse and neglect and, at very bad times, joked on who had it worse." I said.

Tom nodded in understanding.

"You might have to change how the mark looks like. All the auror know how it looks, and Mad-Eye can see the mark though any glamour." Sirius said.

"He can't if the glamour is done in parsel." I hinted.

"Harry?" Tom looked at me.

"Yes. I was a parselmouth. It was thanks to you, actually. I was a horcrux. Now I'm not. So, Mortem said that he had put the horcrux that was already in me until that day back inside my head and gave me complete control of it." I said.

"So, you can still speak parsel?" Draco asked.

"Yes. I can." I said.
