I forgive you: Chapter 57
Harry's POV
The minister rose up and said, "Now that the Chief Warlock post is open,
any section can contest. The one with the highest authority in the section will
take over as Chief Warlock. As well as assigning your side in the Wizengamot.
New and old houses now have the opportunity to change your section."
Moiz stood up and assigned the houses of Slytherin and
Gaunt to dark, whereas he assigned houses, Emrys and Lefay to the neutral.
Severus assigned the house of Prince to the dark section,
whereas the houses Ravenclaw and Peverell to the neutral section.
Remus assigned his house Lupin as well as Gryffindor to
the neutral section.
Sirius stood up and reassigned the house of Black to the
dark section and the house of Potter to the neutral section.
Alice stood up and assigned her houses, Fortescue, and
Hufflepuff to the neutral section.
The minister stood up and asked, "Who is the lord of
the houses, Emrys and Lefay?"
Sirius stood up and said, "Harry James Sirius
Potter-Black is the Heir to the houses Emrys and Lefay. He would be taking over
the Lordship once he completes his education in Hogwarts."
"Who are the Lords of the founding houses?" The
minister asked.
Moiz, Severus, and Alice stood up.
"I, Moiz Maverick Slytherin-Gaunt, am the Lord of
houses Slytherin and Gaunt." Moiz said.
"I, Severus Tobias Prince-Snape, am the lord of
houses Prince and Ravenclaw." Severus said.
"I, Alice Longbottom nee Fortescue, am the Lady to
the houses Fortescue and Hufflepuff." Alice said.
"What about Gryffindor?" The minister asked.
"Sirius stood up again and said, "The Heir to
the house of Gryffindor is Harry James Sirius Potter-Black."
"To what houses is young Mr. Potter-Black Heir
to?" Lord Greengrass asked.
Remus and Sirius looked at each other and nodded.
"He is the Heir to the houses of Potter, Black, Lupin, Peverell,
Gryffindor, Emrys, Lefay, Slytherin, and Guant." Sirius said with pride.
"How can he be the Heir to all those houses? You
must be lying." Someone from the light section, probably a Dumbledore
fanatic, shouted.
"He is the Heir to House Potter from his father.
Houses Black and Lupin, since Remus and I adopted him. Heir to house Peverell
as the house of Peverell married into house Potter and the main line of
Peverell is no more. Heir to Gryffindor as the main line of house Gryffindor
married into the main line of house Peverell and, as I said before, House of
Peverell had married into the House of Potter. He is the Heir to houses Emrys
and Lefay from his mother, who might be the child of squibs from those lines.
The inheritance test from Gringotts doesn't lie. The last, Heir to houses
Slytherin and Gaunt, through right to conquest. Harry had defeated the dark
lord, has he not? Do you still have any questions about my son, Lord
McMillian." Sirius said.
The person who questioned my heritage didn't know where
to put his head. His face was beet-red from embarrassment as he shook his head.
The minster said, "If any would like to contest for
the Chief Warlock position, please step forward."
Moiz looked at Rufus and gestured, asking him to contest.
Rufus walked down to the stage and stood.
No one wanted to contest against the Lord of House
Lestrange. As he was the only one contesting, he got the position easily.
"Who would be representing your house from now, Lord
Lestrange?" The minister asked.
"My eldest son, Rodolphus Lestrange, would be taking
my place and voting." Rufus said.
Everyone accepted it.
The minister raised his wand and said, "I, Minister
of Magic, do hereby declare that Rufus Lestrange shall be the Chief Warlock
until the position is stripped off him or he resigns from the post. So, mote it
be."
The minister and Rufus glowed a little. Magic has
accepted Rufus as Chief Warlock.
When the session was done, Rufus walked to us and asked,
"Why me?"
"You had the best experience in Wizengamot. You also
have a lot of followers. With you as Chief, after knowing that you do not light
of discrimination, they would be careful while passing bills." Moiz said.
Rufus nodded.
"That and I would like to argue for the bills rather
than pass them. I do not even have the experience to take the position as
Moiz." Moiz said.
All of us agreed.
