I forgive you: Chapter 35

Harry's POV
After Gipsy disappeared, Neville lost his control. He started to laugh hysterically, but it was heard like baby giggles.

Frank looked at Neville and smiled, but his expression turned sad. "I am sorry for leaving you with her, Neville. I didn't know she would treat you like that. Why didn't you tell us?"

Neville looked away. "Bad man. Say no say. Me hurt."

"Did someone threaten you?" Alice asked. She was fuming. Neville nodded. "Do you remember how the bad man looked, sweetie?" He nodded. "Can you try to explain or show?" She asked. She was desperate to know who it was.

Neville looked at Alice and tapped his head. Alice didn't understand. She looked lost at his explanation. Neville tried to convey the message 'read his mind' to Frank. Poor guy, he was not able to tell them.

Severus smiled. He said, "He is asking you to look into his head."

Neville looked at Severus and smiled thankfully. Then, he looked at Frank and Alice and nodded.

"But, we don't have the capacity to do it delicately. We are not masters in legilimency." Alice said.

Neville looked at Severus.

Severus sighed and grumbled, "Why do everyone ask me to look into their minds? I should not have become a master at legilimency."

Sirius, Remus, and Moiz scoffed. I merely giggled.

Severus maintained eye contact with Neville and entered his mindscape. When he came out, his expression turned into a scowl.

"It is the old man. Dumbledore tried to threaten Neville about it. He even cast a compulsion charm on the little guy. Good thing your son has a big core." Severus said. The last part was said while he smiled at Neville, which was returned.

"That old man. He puts his nose into things he shouldn't." Alice growled.

"We have to tell you guys something. It is kind of disturbing, so we want it to be told where you can relax and listen without external ears trying to hear you." Remus said. He must have smelled someone coming.

Dumbledore entered. "Ah, Severus, my boy. You are here. I have gone to your house, but didn't find you there."

"You might have missed me there because I was always with Sirius and Remus. I also have been with Harry. I was Lily's friend. She did say she forgave me in her will, didn't she? Now, why were you searching for me, Albus." Severus said. He maintained a stoic expression, but I know that he was getting irritated with the coot's meddling.

"You need to come back and teach Severus. You can't leave like that." Albus chastised.

Severus laughed. "Are you mad, Albus? I have resigned and have no need to teach. My resignation took place immediately. You do have Professor Slughorn there to teach whenever I wasn't available. Just give him his position as Potions Professor and Head of Slytherin back. He had done it effectively before, I know he would do it again even now."

Dumbledore didn't know what to do. He wanted to cast a compulsion silently. I could feel the energy forming in him. I guess my magic is sensitive to other's magic.

"No. Bad man. You no hurt Sev. No." I screamed as I hugged Severus. I wanted to cast a shield, but it would be suspicious.

Severus put a shield around us and asked, "What happened, Harry? Did you feel something malicious from him?" He could have guessed that the coot tried to cast a compulsion on him. I nodded.

Severus turned to Albus with a death glare. "I am Lord Prince now, Albus. I can press charge on you for harassing me to work for you even after my resignation and the spell you tried to use on me. Not that it would work, I have my lord ring, which will protect me from malicious mind control spells. Leave before I change my mind and file a case on you for harassment. You lost a lot of money already, and I don't think you would be willing to lose more."

Albus looked at Severus as if he had a second head. "Listen to me, Severus, and come back and work. I will see to it you won't be arrested for being a death eater." Albus tried.

Sirius laughed at Dumbledore. "You think that will work, Albus. Voldemort is dead. The mark on his arm is gone. It vanished in the morning."

Dumbledore paled. He never thought that would happen. "What if he comes back?" He tried.

"No, he won't, Albus. The goblins have found a horcrux in Harry and removed it and destroyed it. They searched for the remaining horcruxes, found them, and destroyed them last night. It was hard to get the main part of the soul, but eventually, they finally found him and destroyed his soul this morning." Remus said.

Moiz wanted to cackle. He held himself together.

The coot wanted a weapon or fame. He should not have messed with my life this much. Now, he won't be hailed as the destroyer of the dark lord or the mentor of the Boy-Who-Lived.
